Structural Engineering: Making Buildings and Bridges Disaster Proof!
Jessica Ellis and Luke Wilson from ZFA

Structural Engineering is the Science of designing buildings and bridges to withstand forces from the environment. Some forces, such as gravity, are consistent while others, such as earthquakes, fires and wind are ever changing. This presentation will focus on the structural engineer’s role in designing new projects to resist these forces as well as their role in responding to and supporting a community when confronted with one of these types of disasters.

For Piner High students, this event counts toward your STEM Level 1 Certificate.
